Oak Park campus will serve children with learning disabilities and other needs
Camelot Schools has opened a new Therapeutic Day School in Oak Park, IL; Camelot’s sixth such site in suburban Chicago.
The school, located on North Avenue, will provide educational programs for students with specific learning disabilities, emotional needs and other health impairments and serve Oak Park and surrounding school districts.
“We are excited about the prospect of new beginnings, both for our school and our students,” said school Principal Rella Peeler. “With an exceptional staff, academic rigor, and advanced technology, Camelot will give our students new career expectations and the best education possible.”
“Camelot has produced outstanding results for students at its other Therapeutic Day School locations and we felt we could help many more children with this new location,” said Theresa Smith, Camelot’s Vice President for Therapeutic Day Schools.
The school at Oak Park includes classrooms with smart boards, individualized therapy, vocational programs, art and music and exercise facilities.
In addition to educational classes, Camelot’s curriculum includes job research and application and personal finance. Career guidance programs include college and trade school coordination and visits as well as assistance with entrance and financial applications
Oak Park marks Camelot’s sixth site in the area with schools also located in Hoffman Estates, Mt. Prospect, DeKalb, Naperville and Kankakee.
School districts refer children and young adults ages 5-21 to Camelot as a result of the school’s excellent reputation for bringing out the potential in every child.
