Camelot Education featured in this month’s InVironments Dekalb County
In the latest issue of InVironments Dekalb County, the bi-monthly magazine takes a look at Camelot’s Northwest Center for Autism (NWCA). The center, also known as Camelot of Dekalb, opened in 2002 to address the needs of a growing number of children being diagnosed with autism.
Realizing that the children and families of Northern Illinois living with autism needed a place beyond a traditional school setting, the center now works with children as early as three years old and extends the program for adults up to the age of 21. After a child turns 18 NWCA’s 4-tier adult prep program helps students transition into adulthood with job training and independent living skills.
In addition to NWCA, Camelot Education runs Therapeutic Day Schools across the country for children who have been identified as developmentally delayed or on the autism spectrum.
