Autism Speaks Walk 3

All seven of Camelot’s Therapeutic Day Schools in Illinois participated in Saturday’s Autism Speaks Walk in Chicago at Soldier Field.  Mayor Rahm Emanuel was onsite to kick off the event which raised more than $1,019,943 for research and awareness.

Camelot served as a sponsor for this year’s event and brought nearly 100 teachers, staff members and families from across the state to participate. For families who weren’t walking Camelot had a tent on the field with lots of games and giveaways.

Congressman Mike Quigley also attended and expressed his support for autism legislation. He helped cut the ribbon on the “Independence Corner” an area to highlight young adults on the autism spectrum who are gifted in creating arts and crafts.
