Teacher Residency Creates Cohesion Among Camelot Campuses
Teachers from Chicago (Illinois), Pensacola (Florida), Trenton and Camden (New Jersey); Philadelphia, Chester, and Lancaster (Pennsylvania) participated in a two-day Residency at Camelot’s Excel Academy South in Philadelphia recently.
“We brought everyone together with the idea of utilizing common instructional framework,” said Stephanie Goshert, Director of Academic Programs for Camelot. “Our goal was to create cohesion on all Camelot campuses.”
Participants had the opportunity to observe classes, meet instructors and students, and attend Professional Development sessions on the JFF Common Instructional Framework and Rounds Model. Instructional strategies included: scaffolding, class talk, questioning, collaborative group work, literacy groups, and writing to learn.
Camelot’s Excel Academy South and Boston based Jobs for the Future have created an educational partnership in order to enhance learning and academic growth preparing students for post- secondary opportunities.
